The DCN DataStream 2000 system has been designed to retrieve and log analogue and digital data relating to production cycles performed on any D C Norris manufactured machinery. Typically it will log the temperatures and weight of a product during a cook cycle, cooling temperatures and the batching of products such as water or milk into a vessel via flow meters. The system will allow up to twenty (20) channels of data to be logged simultaneously.

DCN DataStream 2000 system utilises Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database to store cycle records and, by using the Historian utility, the records can be viewed and analysed and hard copy reports can be generated.

Features: DCN DataStream 2000

  • The data can be visualised in real-time on an easy to use time based graph and also in a table format depicting a date/time stamp and the actual data.
  • Parameters relating to the cook cycle are instantly displayed at the start of the cycle, e.g. channel name. batch number, product, operator.
  • An LED indicating when the selected channel is active and an LED that flashes when a sample is taken.
  • Graph can show the plots of two channels enabling the user to see trend relationships.

Features: Historian

  • Records can be selected relating to the year, month, day or all records.
  • Records can be selected relating to the batch number, product and/or operator.
  • Records can be selected from a table and visualised in table format or on a graph.
  • A report can be generated and printed off or saved in a variety of well supported formats including Adobe Acrobat (pdf), Microsoft Excel (xls) and Microsoft Word (doc).

The system requires the following specification:

  • Windows 2000/XP Professional operating system and remote based SQL Server database, or Windows 2003 Server if a local SQL Server database is to be utilised.
  • Ethernet card (two on some systems).
  • 80 Gb HDD if using a local SQL Server otherwise a 20 Gb HDD is suffice.
  • CD ROM drive.
  • 2.4 Gb Pentium 4 processor minimum.
  • 512 Mb RAM minimum.

DCN DataStream 2000 - Historian

The DCN DataStream 2000 system has been designed by D C Norris software engineers in-house using the latest Microsoft .NET technologies and is fully supported. This software can be modified to suit customers requirements (modifications will become part of the standard package).
