Design
All of the sales, design and manufacturing drawings are produced within the DC Norris drawing office by our experienced team of design engineers.

Utilising the most up to date design software, we can produce initial customer sales layouts on AutoCAD® which can then be converted to most CAD formats, if required, or alternatively translated into a Microsoft Word® or Adobe PDF® file, should this be preferred.

All of our products are designed using Autodesk Inventor®, the latest 3D solid modelling package. This way the machine can be fully visualised throughout the design process, allowing both engineers and non-technical people to gain a good understanding of what the finished product will look like. This software can be used to produce images, which can be indispensible when discussing the project with customer representatives as well as at internal project meetings. Any required changes can then be made, until such time as everyone is happy with the finished concept. This can then be turned into manufacturing drawings, in a very short time, and issued to production.

This method of design avoids costly errors being made, once upon a time the first time a customer saw his machine was once built and any changes then could be costly to both parties. This way the machine on screen is a very lifelike representation of the finished product and most things can be spotted early on in the design process, long before any metal is cut.
